A Day in the Life:
The Senior Systems Support Engineer is responsible for the care and maintenance of all corporate systems and sites in the Houston office. The Senior Support Engineer will also assist in providing technical and network support to the end users of Alliance Residential Company.
What You ll Do:
Responsible for Windows (server/desktop) systems administration for a variety of business applications.
Primarily responsible for the health of the organization s infrastructure
Ability to quickly learn a mixture of technology utilized by Alliance
Responsible for Hyper-V/VMWare infrastructure and administration.
Responsible for office network connectivity and infrastructure
Familiarity with VPN solutions and remote site connectivity
Responsible for support tickets from Alliance communities and corporate staff.
Enforce policies and procedures regarding the use of company materials.
Maintain, troubleshoot and manage all aspects of desktop support
What You ll Need to Succeed:
Ability to work in a face-paced environment with a remote team and on your own.
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
Excellent organizational skills, both written and verbal.
Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.

Essential Technical Skills:
Candidate must have basic knowledge and expertise of networking concepts including routing, switching, wireless and security.
Experience installing and supporting Windows-based applications
Must have basic knowledge and expertise in the provision, deployment, support, and maintenance of Windows servers (2008/2012/2016) within a large organization.
Experience supporting Microsoft Windows 7 and higher.
Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to identify the root cause of problems and provide solutions.
Documents complex procedures and troubleshooting procedures related to systems/networks software and hardware.
Desired Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor s degree in computer science, MIS, or related field plus 2 to 4 years experience preferred or equivalent work experience.
Industry certifications MCSE and CCNA certifications a plus.
