HopeHealth is seeking a Special Events Manager for its affiliate HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care. This position will be based in Providence, RI.
The Special Events Manager oversees mission-focused fundraising events for HopeHealth. Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Philanthropy and working with Philanthropy Staff and volunteer committees, the Special Events Manager will be responsible for fundraising event planning and management including budget development, revenue projections and tracking, creative project management, volunteer management, solicitation of in-kind and cash donations, vendor relations and donor stewardship. Supports donor cultivation events as needed. In partnership with the Bereavement Department, the Special Events manager will also oversee event coordination of bereavement events such as Light Up a Life and Spring Remembrance, where there is solicitation of memorial donors. The Special Events Manager will also serve as a liaison to all third-party events where constituents organize events to benefit HopeHealth.
The Special Events Manager will also work with the marketing department on the production of all event materials including auction catalogues, invitations, public relations and social media. The Special Events Manager will work within organizational budgets to maximize revenue for existing events. The Special Events Manager must be able to perform all physical and administrative tasks related to events.

Duties / Responsibilities:
Manages all aspects of the annual HopeHealth Invitational golf event and An Evening of Hope & Gratitude to maximize revenue raised while remaining focused on the mission of HopeHealth
Responsible for event budgeting, results analysis, and vendor contract negotiations
Creates time and action plans for events and manages all activities to remain on time and on budget
Serves as an organizational liaison for all Third-Party fundraising events, providing promotional support and attending events
Works with gift officers and VP of Philanthropy to coordinate special donor cultivation events
Works with marketing department on the production of all event materials and public relations
Writes and/or edits correspondence, solicitations and acknowledgment letters
Provides day of event coverage and coordinates adequate volunteer and staff support of events
Facilitates volunteer event committee meetings and trains and manages all event volunteers
Acts as a liaison to community groups and vendors, as assigned
Assumes additional responsibilities and special duties as assigned
Successful track record in soliciting and stewarding corporate sponsors required
Effective leadership and management skills required to direct team members in all related activities
Ability to organize and manage projects within defined timeframe and budget
Computer skills, including a working knowledge of word processing, spread sheet and data base management applications. Knowledge of Raiser's Edge or other fundraising database system preferred
A Bachelor's degree in management, marketing, business or a related field is preferred
A minimum of five years' progressively responsible experience in special events or annual or corporate fundraising is preferred
Must have non-profit experience
