The Institute for Scientist and Engineer Educators (ISEE) is a growing interdisciplinary, multi-divisional unit on campus that provides training and professional preparation of science and engineering (S&E) undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers, and leads national workforce development initiatives. ISEE advances STEM graduate students and postdoctoral researchers with teaching and other professional skills, and broadly prepares undergraduates to be successful in STEM careers. Diversity, equity and inclusive teaching strategies are ISEE priorities and woven into all activities. ISEE has a research & development strand that engages social scientists in projects related to teaching, learning, professional development, and persistence. ISEE has regional chapters across the U.S. and is continuing to expand both nationally and internationally, as demand for ISEE's unique programs continues to grow. ISEE leads a nationally recognized workforce development initiative to support the growth of astronomical facilities in Hawaii, including partnerships with existing telescopes and two world-class facilities currently under construction: the Daniel K.
