Information and Technology Services (ITS) is looking for an Inventory Control Clerk Associate to join the Depot in Neighborhood IT within ITS.
This role requires someone who can work under minimal supervision, proactively anticipates and resolves problems, experience in a role requiring providing excellent customer service, the ability to follow documented procedures and standards in a consistent manner, and has the passion to meet or exceed customer expectations. This position will report to the Depot IT Operations Supervisor in the ITS Support Services.

The Depot is responsible for the entire life-cycle of IT related hardware for MiWorkspace subscribing units through the procurement, order tracking, receipt, asset tagging, build for windows and mac computers, and the delivery of all IT related hardware. The Depot also works in a collaborative effort with our partners in the Neighborhood IT Desktop support and tech repair groups to maintain the integrity of our asset management database, coordinate repairs, and refresh hardware as it becomes end of life.

You have at least one (1) year of experience to facilitate the MiWorkspace inventory, disposal, ordering, and asset management activities for the University of Michigan.
Responsible for ordering and asset management for MiWorkspace units; includes working with the warehouse, ITS Purchasing, and vendor representatives, coordinate with team members and other service support groups to effectively resolve incidents and requests, supports and collaborates with team members and other technical staff
Responsible for preparation, upload, and verification of appropriate MiWorkspace discovery information on a daily basis and new asset/inventory information from Depot Daily Records and providing units with accurate and timely hardware reports
Contributes process and service enhancements by identifying when established procedures are not working and there are gaps in processes, and makes recommendations for improvements; develops and edits customer and support documentation
Utilizes analytical and communication skills in the development and modification of written procedures, processes, and technical support documentation
High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Understanding of supply, inventory, shipping procedures, and knowledge of asset tracking
At least one (1) year of experience in a related role requiring confidentiality, timeliness, customer service, organization, prioritization, troubleshooting, and working independently to successfully assist customers
Demonstrated proficiency with current computer technology and applications (e.g. productivity apps, Google apps, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to manage a large volume of inventory, including tracking, and accounting for product
Demonstrated effective creative problem solving and flexibility when collaborating with customers, team members, support teams, and technical organizations to understand, advocate for, evaluate, and support enhancements, resulting in plans and services that leverage the capabilities of existing technology and meet customer and organizational expectations
Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills including strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively through all levels of management and matrix organizations
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers in a manner that consistently meets the organization’s expectations for exemplary customer service
Excellent organizational, analytical and independent problem-solving skills
Ability to influence others in the building and maintaining consensual approach with a wide array of diverse business interests
Understanding of computer hardware components and configuration management
Demonstrated experience and knowledge using Asset Management Systems; ServiceNow or other IT Service Management suites

May require a flexible work schedule and working during non-business hours based on business needs. Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is required. Will require travel to various locations on campus. Candidate must regularly move throughout the office environment, must frequently operate a computer to complete work and tasks, and may be required to move equipment weighing up to 120 pounds. Successful candidate must meet the requirements of operating a University owned vehicle, and possess a valid driver's license with less than seven (7) points.
