The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is currently seeking a Full-time, Contractual Epidemiological Assistant II . The Epidemiological Assistant II is responsible for maintaining databases, tracking protocols, enrolling research subjects, collecting/sending samples, maintaining and updating regulatory documents, and assists in data analysis.
***This is a Full-Time, Contractual Position***

Assesses study participant medical eligibility in accordance with established protocols, and interviews and/or tests participants.
Collects data such as bone density, neuromuscular, and anthropometric measurements.
Assists in designing and developing database tracking systems; maintains databases. Assists in generating status, exception, progress and other types of standard or custom reports.
Assists in preparing study forms, documenting survey instrument instructions, writing questionnaire specifications, and writing study protocols and code books.
Assists in pretesting and refining data collection and input instruments.
Performs quality assurance checks by evaluating for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness data sent in by field personnel.
Performs all of the duties of the Epidemiological Assistant I.
Education: HS Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree (psychology, biology, or other related field) preferred.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in academic, basic, or clinical research.
Other: Consideration may be given for a unique combination of education and experience.
Possess basic skill set in statistical interpretation and data analysis using statistical software as well as spreadsheet and database software applications.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Proficient with navigating sponsors' online portals, training modules, and data entry systems.
Communicate regularly with finance team to monitor study status, invoices, and close outs.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of subjects and information obtained.
Ability to network with and provide information to key groups and individuals.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to communicate effectively with widely diverse groups of people both in person and over the phone.
Ability to manage workload, to use time effectively, and to work in a non-office setting.
