The Department of Information Technology and Administrative Management (ITAM) at Central Washington University, in Ellensburg, Washington, invites applications for an Assistant Professor in the area of networking and cybersecurity, including Windows administration and security; Linux administration and security; digital forensics; and attack and defend scenarios.
The department serves students in administrative management; network management; web and database management; project management; retail technology and management; data analytics; and cyber security. The teacher-scholar model is paramount; therefore, teaching, research and service in all areas is expected of department faculty. The department provides instruction to students in multiple locations.
The ideal candidate is an individual who enjoys working in a department that values teaching excellence, student learning, scholarship, and service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.
Teach a variety of networking and cybersecurity courses to undergraduate and graduate students. Members of the faculty are expected to advise students and to publish peer-reviewed research.
PhD, EdD, or related terminal degree. ABD considered; however, the terminal degree must be completed no later than September 15, 2020
Evidence of effective and student-focused in-class and/or online post-secondary teaching in networking, cybersecurity, or related disciplines
Professional certification (CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCNA, CCDP, etc.)
Experience in cyber security, network management, or information systems
Experience in teaching graduate courses in information technology, cybersecurity, networking, or related disciplines
Demonstrated service to students or the information systems profession
Ability to work collaboratively with University faculty, students, and staff
Strong written and verbal communication skills
