Position Summary: The Graduate Enrollment Management team at Yeshiva University is charged with attracting, selecting, and matriculating a high caliber of diverse students into Yeshiva's graduate programs.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Graduate Enrollment Management, we seek an experienced Director to play a critical role in growing and evolving the enrollment management strategy at Yeshiva.
The Director will be responsible for extending Yeshivas reach for graduate programs to an increasingly diverse student population. S/he leads in the creation and implementation of recruitment efforts via event planning, information sessions and alumni engagement, intended to cultivate and matriculate each incoming cohort. S/he will strategically lead efforts to produce key feeder programs and other potential partners for promising talent, as well as implement a recruiting strategy that increases the enrollment for graduate programs at Yeshiva. The Director serves as the lead for all on-campus events for the graduate schools.
The Director also serves as a member of the Admissions Committee and will ensure effective evaluation of applications, interviews (if applicable) and recommendations for admissions decisions. Additionally, the Director is responsible for providing insight and guidance on selection, scholarships and yield, as well as coordinating and assessing key admissions criteria to develop an effective recruiting plan. This includes nurturing tactics, event management, and yield strategies.
Travel is required along with evening and weekend hours.
The Director will be responsible for using data to model and project application volume within recruitment territories in collaboration with the Executive Director. The Director will be responsible for expert knowledge of the admissions database, data management and extraction for frequent reporting.
Responsibilities will include:
Strategic, tactical and operational planning and participation in recruitment trips and activities to support the enrollment objectives for the Office of Graduate Enrollment Management including:
Relevant graduate fairs, forums, professional conferences, workshops, seminars and meetings; and
Plan and execute annual on-campus as well as any new events to promote graduate programs
Direct admissions for various degree program offerings to ensure world-class cohorts are delivered to reach growth in graduate programs
Liaise with the Office of Student Finance to help advise prospective/incoming students regarding financial aid for a seamless experience from admitted to current student
Lead opportunities to build the Yeshiva brand as one of the preeminent graduate and professional institutions for graduate study in the nation
Research local, regional, national, and global graduate trends; identify target markets and recruiting venues
Routinely perform outcomes assessment and evaluation of recruitment tactics and strategies
Develop appropriate measurements to ensure effectiveness of recruiting activities as a recruitment tool
Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager to oversee the operations of the admissions process, ensuring excellence in organization and communication of admissions policies
Cultivate relationships and collaborate with other academic units at the university, college and department levels to maintain effective reporting capability
Oversee and participate in on-campus, off-campus and virtual recruitment and yield events
Experience & Educational Background:
Candidates with a bachelors degree and five or more years of professional experience working in higher education admissions or a competitive sales/marketing environment
Experience with quantitative, market-based approach to planning recruitment activities
Experience developing new tools for capturing and evaluating data, and ability to effectively communicate data analysis results to a diverse audience required
Masters degree in a relevant or related field; and/or additional work experience beyond five year minimum is preferred
Professional experience in the higher education and/or admissions and recruitment context is strongly preferred but not required
Strong communicator and project manager, and have demonstrated strategic planning ability
Experience with CRMs and other related technologies preferred
Skills & Competencies:
Exceptional oral and written communication skills are necessary
Demonstrated track record in leadership of diverse staff with excellent management skills to build consensus and achieve institutional goals
The successful candidate will have good analytical skills in data management; a thorough understanding of how to gather, codify and analyze data to create reports to inform decision-making
Ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion
Demonstrated track record of taking initiative, being proactive, and remaining flexible and resilient
Evidence of strong interpersonal skills, preferably in the context of working with student populations, is required
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and multi-task in a fast-paced team environment and consistently meet deadlines
