Position Summary: The Quality and Education Coordinator is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of training curriculum for new staff onboarding, and the ongoing staff development in the Sterile Processing Department. Will oversee all functions to ensure decontamination, sterilization and assembly processes meet all quality standards. Will collect, analyze, and report out on all quality data requirements for quality control and compliance purposes. Will develop action plans and staff education for improvement. Promotes excellence in clinical practice and participates in the development and maintenance of policies through interpretation of current standards of practice.
Rate Minimum $74,300.00 Maximum $159,600.00
Required Qualifications: Ability and comfort working with all levels of staff and managementAbility to develop and perform competency assessments related to cleaning, disinfection and sterilizationAbility to ensure regulatory compliance with cleaning, disinfection and sterilization processes throughout the organization, including the development and performance of process tracers related to cleaning, disinfection and sterilizationAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health SystemAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadAbility to travel locally to all UC Irvine Health Sterile Processing locationsBachelor's degree OR Associate's degree with International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management certification (CRCST) or equivalent combination of education and experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishExperience with creating and effectively providing educational curriculumMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobMust possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned dutiesPrior experience in decontamination, sterilization, and assembly of surgical instruments/devicesProficiency in computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelStrong oral and written communication skills. Ability to draft, edit, and produce a variety of documents such as training manuals and compliance reportsStrong project management skills, capable of identifying, developing, implementing, monitoring, and revising performance improvement initiatives related to CDSWorking knowledge & understanding of IAHCSMM and AORN standards
