The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of X-ray Imaging, Digital Tomosynthesis, Image Quality Metrics, and Mathematical Modeling of Imaging Systems. Experience in Super-resolution, Breast Imaging, and Quantitative Image Analysis is highly desirable. Experience in other imaging modalities such as general tomosynthesis or CT would be an advantage. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in bioengineering, medical physics or physics. Experience in grant writing and other imaging modalities such as general tomosynthesis or CT would be an advantage.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include conducting research in the area of development of novel tomosynthesis system designs for breast imaging, musculoskeletal imaging and 4D tomosynthesis; assessment, modeling, and optimization of super-resolution and multiplanar reconstruction in tomosynthesis images; development of personalized acquisition geometries for tomosynthesis; assessment, modeling, and optimization of magnification tomosynthesis for high-resolution 3D imaging; and development of methods for assessing the robustness of radiomic features in x-ray imaging to variability in imaging acquisition techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of graduate students and postdocs as well as grant writing and management. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with faculty in the Department of Radiology to develop and implement new radiographic and tomographic imaging methods.
