Under the direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Campus Planning, the Planner develops analyses related to the campus growth and capital plan. Items of work will include detailed program documents, preparation of planning reports, coordination of working groups, feasibility studies, zoning research, planning reports, space planning and management of outside consultants, along with other efforts to support the implementation of the campus plan and general planning work in support of the University’s mission.
The Planner will also be required to work with the City of Pittsburgh in the Oakland area in support of the main campus and work with other municipalities having jurisdiction over the University’s regional campuses. The Planner is expected to work closely and collaborate with others in the planning area of FM such as the University Architect, the Interior Designer and Space Planner.
In addition, the Planner will interface and work with Project Managers, develop and maintain working relationships with department end-users of space, know and understand the Physical Facilities and work with outside consultants and professionals as required.
Baccalaureate Degree in Architecture, Urban Planning and or Landscape Architecture or Interior Design Masters Degree preferred. 6+ years experience preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning or Architecture or a related field from an accredited School. 6 – 10 years of experience. Masters Degree preferred. AICP desired or certifications specific to the degree.
