Reporting to the Assistant Dean Workforce Development Community Education, the P/T Technical Assistant:
Provides office support, including (but not limited to), customer service, payment processing and art supplies sales;
Provides administrative support to faculty and students (photocopying, providing rosters, etc.), and other front desk activities
Provides technical assistance to faculty and students in labs (computer/photo/painting/jewelry/ceramics etc.);
Assists with inventory, shipping/receiving, and stocking;
Upkeeps inventory and informs the Senior Technician of equipment and supply concerns or issues;
Assists with the installation of student and art exhibitions,
Assists in the production of printed and digital marketing materials and posting;
Assists the Senior Technicians, as needed;
Supports the Assistant Dean with other tasks, as needed, including administrative and programmatic support.
WORK SCHEDULE: Mondays and Tuesdays: 4:30 pm-10:00 pm.
POSITION EFFECTIVE: The position will remain open until filled.
HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $12.50 per hour. No benefits.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in the area of specialty are required. The successful candidate must possess some knowledge of the principles, practices, terminology and tools and/or equipment used in the visual arts. The incumbent must possess the ability to work effectively with others, including staff, students, and faculty. Excellent customer service and communication skills are required. Computer proficiency is also required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A degree in art education, administration, and/or studio art is preferred. Previous work experience that includes technology (machinery, audio/visual, computers, equipment or art related technologies) is strongly preferred.
