Essential Functions: Under the supervision of the Project Investigator and Project Manager, the Research Assistant is responsible for HIV outreach and recruitment activities, conducting intervention sessions and contributing to protocol implementation.Essential Functions:Recruits program participants for individual intervention sessions or group interventions.Provides HIV prevention education and testing to potential program participants.Provides health education and field outreach in clinical and non-traditional settings. Conducts research visits and/or group interventions including data collection and entry.Maintains continuous learning through literature reviews and training requirements.Support Project Investigator and Manager with programmatic Infrastructure.Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in counseling or community health or related field preferred. Will consider a combination of education and experience. Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) HIV Test Counselor Certification or attainment of certification within 90 days of employment required.Progressive experience working in the field of HIV, with youth, or community-based education/outreach preferred. Experience working with protocols and procedures. Experience working on a team.Knowledge, SKills and Abilities:Effective and professional oral and written communications skills. Ability to write clear, accurate and concise reports. Working knowledge of social media. Data entry skills with working knowledge of database management.
