Founded in 1960 by the New Orleans Province of the Society of Jesus, a religious order of priests and brothers also known as the Jesuits, Strake Jesuit is a Catholic, four-year college preparatory school serving young men grades nine through twelve. Reporting to the Director of Operations and working within the Operations Team, this is a permanent, year-round, and salaried position. This is a new position looking to be filled as soon as possible.
The Facilities Manager will collaborate with other school departments to support the execution of the mission of the school through a variety of communications strategies and tools.
Responsibilities include the effective and efficient management and continuous improvement of the following areas of our operations: preventive and corrective maintenance, project management, event planning and coordination, security, transportation, food service and others that support the mission of the school.
Minimum Qualifications for Applicants:Experience
Five or more years of related professional experience with progressively responsible positions.
Experience in non-profit or education sector is preferred.
Deep knowledge of the principles and best practices of effective and efficient asset/facility management
Experience in the effective utilization of information systems and software to plan, schedule and analyze required maintenance work and other school activities managed by the department.

Deep understanding of and a passion for Strake Jesuit’s mission of educating young men in the tradition of the Society of Jesus.
Excellent management skills and proven experience in working with a collaborative team.
A self-starter with the ability to initiate and follow through on new programs and projects.
Ability to systematically troubleshoot equipment and system issues and provide practical and effective solutions
Ability to manage multiple concurrent issues, programs and projects and effectively communicate the nature of issues, related plans and their status.
Ability to gather and analyze data and create effective reports and communications
Effectively utilize MS Office products including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Ability to use MS Project, MS Access or an EAM software are a plus.
Knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, and terminology of building trades.
Ability to walk, stand, maintain balance, climb ladders, crouch, lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder level.
Ability to withstand inside and outside environmental conditions.
Ability to deal with moderate levels of stress related to time constraints and hazards of the job.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the planning, scheduling and execution of assigned maintenance and operations activities
Analyze and optimize work performance through key performance indicators
Supervise and assist with maintenance and operations activities as required
Develop annual budgets for maintenance and operations activities.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment and asset related issues as needed.
Maintain inventory of supplies, materials and equipment needed for maintenance and operations
Organize implements and optimize a program of preventative maintenance.
Maintain key, phone and security systems as needed.
Conduct routine QA/QC inspections of buildings for maintenance and other services.
Maintain adequate inventory of necessary tools, equipment, furniture, and supplies for effective and efficient work execution
Supervise and inspect work performed by contractors and verify that terms and conditions of contracts were complete before authorizing final payment.
Advises and/or responds to emergencies on a 24 hour basis as needed.
