This position is part of theleadership team for SVB Products and is the point of contact for strategic,operational, regulatory and compliance risk matters. The role is part ofthe first line of defense, within the Business Risk Officer team, but will liaiseclosely with the second line of defense. Youwill be working to establish a product risk function that is building andoperating the platform that is leveraged by more than half of all VC backedcompanies in the US. The role is also responsible for building theculture of a well-managed organization in line with guidance from ERM, ORM,Compliance and other second line of defense groups.
Responsibilitiesinclude risk governance and oversight; execution and management of businessline procedures; business unit training program; execution of a robust controlstesting program; and risk identification and remediation program forself-identified, internal and external issues in keeping with corporate toolsand methodologies. This position will manage a team ofbusiness risk officers across Channels & Core Banking, Liquidity, GTASpayments and Credit products with direct responsibility for GTAS Payments andCredit products. The position willreport to the Office of the Presidents Business Risk Officer, with a dottedline to SVBs Chief Product Officer.
Partnerwith internal compliance, Internal Audit, legal, IT, payroll, and other processowners to identify risks, maintain compliance standards, and mitigate risksdomestically and internationally
Provideexpert support and advice to the business on risk identification and issuemanagement
Leadthe facilitation of risk assessments as directed by the second line of defense
Supportprocess and control owners
Identify/providetools to guide maintenance of controls
Proactivelydevelop compliance and operational processes
Managemaster project schedule related to business unit audits, reporting,findings/recommendations, corrective actions, and changes. Whennecessary, liaise between the business unit and auditors or examiners
Workwith managers across all business unit functions to resolve risk issues asappropriate
Facilitatecross functional teams, facilitate project meetings, develop and maintainproject plans and manage/support solution implementations
Manageaudit process, including coordinating with business unit team members, externalauditors, consultants and the internal compliance / Audit team
Ensurerisk issues and corresponding action items are effectively remediated andevidenced.
Workclosely with Operational Risk personnel on both the Risk Assessments and RiskIssues
Workwith systems team to ensure data integrity, maintain compliance withfederal/state and international requirements. Report accurate and timelyinformation as it relates to compliance and risk responsibilities.
Partnerswith Director, Policy and Projects to manage processes to maintain businessunit policies in compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Coordinateand support process/control owners in maintenance of required compliancedocumentation as well as internal control practices
Conductrisk management/compliance training as needed
Manageand/or support other special projects, initiatives, as needed
Managea team of business risk officers
Bachelors degree required (Mastersdegree desirable) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant risk managementexperience
Experience with Payments riskmanagement
Direct experience working in a firstor second line risk role within a financial institution, or consultingexperience advising financial institutions on the implementation of effectiveRisk Management programs
Working knowledge of bankingregulations within risk management and bank-capital related disciplines
Strong expertise with MS Officeincluding Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio as well as Adobe. Expertise withTableau and experience with GRC tools a plus.
Demonstrated project management,analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability tocollaborate, negotiate, influence and build consensus across the organization
