In addition, UW Medicine shares in the ownership and governance of Children's University Medical Group and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance a partnership among UW Medicine, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research, and Seattle Children's.Strategic Outreach and Business Development CoordinatorDEPARTMENT: Heart Institute Service LineThe Strategic Outreach and Business Development Coordinator is responsible for outreach, education and marketing of Heart Institute marque programs to regional external customers. This includes the planning and execution of a wide variety of initiatives and tactics to promote specific Heart Institute clinical programs to external clinicians and hospitals located throughout the region (in-state and out of state) (WWAMIO).Essential Functions:*Manage all Heart Institute external relationships in the WWAMIO region.*Implements strategies for the promotion and expansion (growth) of Heart Institute clinical programs to regionally located targeted clinicians and hospitals.*Focuses on referring provider service excellence to advance Heart Institute clinical services throughout the region.*Participates in the development of promotional and educational materials for referring physicians that create strong referral relationship.*Coordinates activities and materials to raise awareness for specific programs.*Establishes relationships with physicians and key clinical staff in the region.*Develops and maintains appropriate referral processes as needed by outside sites.*Analyzes and maintains information related to referral patterns*Assists with organizing educational programs for staff and/or patients at these regional sites*Monitors effectiveness of our regional programs. Investigates concerns or delays in care and makes recommendations for improvements. Serves as the main contact to resolve referral problems or concerns for outside customers. Follows through and ensures service recovery is complete.*Provides open and ongoing communication and collaboration with members of the Heart Institute care team (faculty and staff) related to outreach activities and feedback received.*Maintains excellent communication and professional demeanor with all outside customers and ensures information and resources are provided.*Recommends provider outreach events/education as needed throughout the region.*Assists in the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of marketing and communication tools.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:*Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with physicians, both internal and external to the Heart Institute.*Must possess excellent verbal and written communication, customer service skills and maintain a high level of professionalism.*Requires the ability to exercise independent judgement and decision making skills.*Requires excellent organizational skills that will lead to effective project management.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or Strategic Planning AND four years of experience in program development and marketing to include: Outreach, Sales, Planning, Data Analysis, Presentation skills. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements. Desired: *Master's degree preferred*Medical / Pharmaceutical Sales experience highly preferred*Preferred experience in sales, and strategic sales development.*Prior experience working closely with physicians*Prior experience in health care marketing*Prior knowledge/experience in cardiovascular medicine*Project management experience is helpful however a PMP certification is not required.Conditions of Employment: Out of the office on outreach visits, driving, flying, and meeting with outside organizations. In office time will be spent near the Heart Institute Clinic offices. Additionally, participation in meetings with large and small groups of physicians is required.
