The Manager of Communications and Player Outreach will plan and execute marketing communications campaigns that are integrated and break-through in the category. The manager will develop and implement communication strategies and tactics geared towards the NFL-Long Study.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Manage communications for the NFL-LONG study, a research initiative evaluating the health of NFL players. Overseeing the website, social media, press, tradeshows, and other communications outlets.
Manage and create new content related to the study and its objectives.
Coordinate communications with other research sites.
Develop and manage coordinated communications strategies to increase the interest in and visibility of the NFL-LONG Study.
Partner with high profile NFL player ambassadors and key organizations to optimize outreach/engagement.
Ensure that all communication materials are consistent with our brand strategy.
Oversee email correspondence in addition to managing and curating the NFL-LONG contact database.
Conduct research and competitive data analysis to maximize communication effectiveness. Track and report all communication metrics.
Communicate recruitment and research updates to the NFL-LONG PI and research team.
Minimum Education and Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in Communications with a minimum of 4 years' experience.
Experience in the academic research, academic medical center, or community outreach/engagement field preferred.
Experience recruiting high profile athletes required, and experience communicating with former NFL players strongly preferred.
Experience and ability to effectively manage multiple communications projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written skills, and ability to work with people at various levels.
Attention to detail as well as proficiency with proofreading and copy editing.
Strong organizational, time and project management skills, and the ability to multitask, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
The position requires a team player who is able to function effectively in a highly complex organizational environment but also able to work independently with minimal supervision.
