This position is split between project management, grant writing and technical assistance for Dr. Yalini Sentharajah's lab.
The Lab Project Manager will manage all aspects of the lab projects, paperwork for IRBs, patient recruitment and study coordination, contacts with collaborators and clinical staff at UPMC and outside institutions, grant writing and creating presentations. The incumbent must have excellent writing and oral communications skills for grant and paper writing, interfacing with various levels of clinicians and others in the healthcare system, as well as programmers, students, and collaborators. Duties will include: planning and coordinating meetings with lab personnel and colleagues; writing technical notices, grant reports, and other documents involved in grant submission; and following and implementing technical instructions of Lab Director in highly varied projects. This will involve programming in different areas, including web programming, testing new technologies for evaluation of their applicability and usefulness for projects, creating scripts and evaluation plans, compiling statistics, and testing with users (which may include clinicians or patients).
This position will also be responsible for contacting technology vendors, IT staff at Pitt and other institutions. The role will also work with graduate students in DBMI, ISP, Rehab sciences school, CMU and elsewhere. Requires familiarity with healthcare use cases and coordination with the director.
Master's Degree with technical and writing education preferred. Knowledge of IT, informatics, cognitive science, healthcare and related areas highly desired. Experience with grant writing, project management, team coordination, healthcare presentation, and in healthcare-related settings preferred. Knowledge of IT, technical education, usability and healthcare IT preferred.
