Lochgroup is currently seeking a mid-level PROJECT ENGINEER II or III – HIGHWAY DESIGN for our office in Troy IL.
The PROJECT ENGINEER – HIGHWAY DESIGN will serve as a Design Team Member or Project Manager. The candidate serves with a group of Engineers, Engineer Designers, and Technicians whose focus is the preparation of plans and/or reports associated with vehicular and pedestrian transportation facilities.
Develops or assists with the development of project scopes, budgets, and schedules for contract development.
Coordinates with other Lochmueller Group departments and sub-consultants to assign project scope, budget, and schedule.
Assists with business development efforts.
Prepares or assists with the preparation of statements of qualifications and letters of interest.
Performs design type functions related to geometric design, hydraulic computations and plan preparation, including CAD.
Develops computer models in various software to aid in design development.
Performs quantity computations and cost estimates.
Prepares and develops various preliminary engineering studies.
Performs a quality check of work assigned to junior staff.
Manages project status and organizes work flow regarding the scope of services being provided by both Lochmueller Group staff and sub-consultants, as well as the project budget and the project schedule.
B.S. or Master's in Civil Engineering
Registered Professional Engineer
8 -20+ years of related experience
In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Experience with project management and accounting software
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Valid driver’s license
