The Cardiovascular Rehabilitation and Wellness Center at UC San Diego Health offers state of the art programs designed to help patients with heart disease recover faster and lead healthier lives. Located on the first floor of the Jacobs Medical Center, the center will offer medically supervised exercise; food and nutrition education, including cooking classes in our teaching kitchen and stress management and emotional support.
The manager of Cardiac Rehab is responsible for oversight of the outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation program, as part of the Department of Cardiology. The position is responsible for independent responsibilities for planning, developing, supervision of staff and management of clinical operations, including coordinating staff schedules, maintaining staff competencies and HR files, ensuring regulatory compliance, preparing for regulatory surveys, managing the budget, and being a liaison with the inpatient cardiac programs for patient recruitment and education. The Manager conducts patient and staff meetings and facilitates weekly case conferences with the medical director.
Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration or related area and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
Seven or more years of relevant experience in business/clinical operations of a large complex healthcare system.
Experience and proven success in clinic/center management experience, with progressive expertise in practice management, scheduling, customer-service methods, incident reporting, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, and information technology.
Clinical experience (RN or Exercise Physiologist) with cardiac rehab program with emphasis given to individuals with intensive cardiac rehab experience.
Four (4+) or more years of previous managerial experience in a healthcare setting.
Experience managing cardiac or pulmonary rehab center.
Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills with ability to motivate, direct, and manage staff in accomplishing established goals and objectives.
Experience in developing measurements, monitoring and training to ensure goals and standards are consistently met and upheld.
Demonstrated ability in analyzing complex issues or problem, formulating and implementing creative solutions.
Demonstrated ability to determine the key business issues and conceptualize significant program enhancements to develop appropriate action plans from multidisciplinary perspectives.
Demonstrated ability to lead professionals through influence and collaboration.
Proficient in team building, conflict resolution, group interaction, project management, and budget management.
Strong skills in complex analytic problem solving, project management, change management, and group process.
Excellent business acumen and superb oral and written communication skills.
Skills to maintain a professional, ethical attitude.
Proven ability to develop long-term planning to ensure organization changes/goals are met.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
