As Hana continues to rapidly expand & grow, we are looking to add to our finance team by hiring an Accounting Manager who will be responsible for complex accounting activities associated with maintaining the general ledger and financial statement preparation. They will also be responsible for directing other Staff accounts if applicable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes of a global team including the preparation and approval of journal entries, account reconciliation, analysis of actual to budget variances, and preparation of supplemental information required for financial reporting.
Interacts routinely with sales and other personnel of the supported business in order to identify, research, and conclude on the appropriate accounting for pending or contemplated transactions.
Interacts with internal and external auditors.
Ensures that the accounting function for the supported business is in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and with relevant tax, SEC and management reporting requirements.
Ensures that systems and procedures are in compliance with all applicable policies and regulations .
Will provide formal supervision for a global team of accountants including ongoing oversight, training, and feedback to accounting staff.
Participate in hiring, promotions, and termination decisions.
Mentor and coach team members to further develop competencies.
Lead by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
Demonstrate ability to work independently and effectively in a complex matrix reporting structure.
Reports to the Global Controller of the supported business.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
7+ years experience in public and/or private accounting, including 3+ years experience in a progressively responsible supervisory/management position.
Certificate and Licenses:
CPA strongly preferred. Big 4 public accounting experience with a financial services background is preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to effectively interact with and present to internal and external stakeholders including members of senior management. Ability to coordinate, supervise, and guide the professional development of direct reports.
Broad, in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Financial Accounting Standards (FASB), theories, & practices. Demonstrated experience & knowledge of financial issues & economic impact beyond technical knowledge. Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Ability to analyze and interpret complex legal and financial documents. Ability to arrive at solutions to problems involving significant ambiguity.
Familiarity with PeopleSoft and HFM applications a plus.
Demonstrated ability to arrive at solutions to complex issues and problems. Responsible for setting team and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to the supported business and its stakeholders.
