The Director of Supply Distribution under the direction of the Vice President Supply Chain is responsible for the 24-hour operation of the flow of supplies, services, and equipment to and from all hospital customers.
Fulfills role of subject matter expert for supply and equipment distribution for the organization.
Responsible for all activities concerning the receipt, storage, distribution, and related data entry of supplies, services, and equipment entering and exiting the hospital in accordance with established priorities and schedules.
Identifies need for, designs, and ensures implementation of inventory controls ensuring adequate material availability to support operations and patient care.
Operates Distribution within and exceeds professional standards and accreditation requirements, including the Joint Commission and OSHA, and ensures knowledge by all Supply Distribution staff.
In conjunction with the Vice President Supply Chain, develops, implements, monitors, and acts on Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
Participates in annual budget process and monitors and analyzes monthly budget performance.
Remains aware of industry trends and is responsible for the efficient operation of Supply Distribution within budgetary constraints.
Interviews, hires, schedules, assigns work to and evaluates work performance of employees directly supervised.
Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred, and AHRMM certification (CMRP) preferred.
A minimum of 4 years progressive, successful management experience in healthcare Materials Management to acquire competence in the core functions related to evaluation, storage, and distribution of supplies and materials in a patient care setting is required.
Experience with automated supply cabinets a must.
Must have excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect and correlate information and data.
Excellent team, leadership, and project management skills are required.
Ability to use effective communication to provide excellent customer service and demonstrate effective and culturally appropriate communication.
Ability to use computer software, specifically, Excel, Power Point, and Word is required in addition to familiarity with materials management software
