National Science Teaching Association located in Arlington, VA, seeks highly qualified candidates for the position of Project Manager- Gains in the Education of Mathematics and Science/Camp Invention (GEMS/CI). This is a grant-funded position and an on-site position. The Project Manager will manage the GEMS project and the procurement of Camp Invention scholarships. This position will report and work directly with the NSTA Director, Army Education Outreach Program (AEOP) to develop and execute strategic plans to meet the goals established by the Army for successful implementation of both programs; work with the AEOP Director and Budget Manager to develop and analyze an annual budget; serve as primary liaison with sponsor regarding day-to-day administration of GEMS/CI; Oversee all marketing campaigns and be the liaison with the Local Program Coordinator at the Army Research Labs where the GEMS programs are held. Additionally, the project manager will be the liaison with the National Inventors Hall of Fame to be the fiscal agent for the Camp Invention scholarships. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Bachelor’s Degree. Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Travel will be required to each of the GEMS/CI sites on at least a rotational basis with other possible travel. Experience with science and mathematics research, education, or social program management is desirable, as is knowledge of military (specifically the U.S Army) protocol. Customer service and writing skills are strongly desired. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
