Provide analysis and recommendations for Department of Biology and Medical Sciences construction, renovation, and maintenance projects in Jordan Hall, Myers Hall, Kent Farm, 10th Street Greenhouses, Bayles Road Teaching Preserve, and other facilities.
Serve as point person for daily maintenance and service requests submitted by facility users. Identify mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, initiate corrective action, recommend solutions, and provide supervision of projects being performed by Facility Operations staff or outside contractors.
Coordinate efforts with University Architects Office, Facility Operations, Environmental Health & Safety, and the Office of Insurance, Loss Control, and Claims. #LI-DNI
Associate degree in Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or Construction Technology.
Combinations of education or related experience may be considered.
General knowledge of a variety of architectural, engineering, construction techniques and technologies. Extensive experience working with building systems similar to Jordan and Myers Halls. Experience with steam heating, chilled water cooling, air-handlers, variable air volume (VAV) systems, pneumatic and digital temperature controls, constant temperature rooms, fume hoods, plumbing and sprinkler systems, and electrical systems and controls. Ability to interpret and analyze construction blueprints, specifications, submittals / shop drawings, record documents, test and balance reports, and O&M manuals.
Familiarity and experience in a university setting.
