Job Summary: Lead organizations enterprise risk management program and the key component function of business continuity and resilience. Direct and oversee the Banks Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) process, including identifying, assessing, mitigating, monitoring and reporting on risks. Coordinate the development and execution of the Banks ERM framework and drive efforts to create a comprehensive, integrated view of risk across the organization. Manage the Banks business continuity and resilience activities, including the creation of a business impact analysis, development and review of crisis management and business continuity plans, and facilitation of regular tabletop exercises for Bank executives and business leaders.
Principal Accountabilities: · Collaborate with representatives from risk-focused functions at the Bank (e.g., Audit, COSO, Information Security, Law Enforcement, etc.) to gather and share information about current and emerging risks, develop a comprehensive understanding of the Banks risk landscape, facilitate the development and implementation of the Banks risk appetite, and drive appropriate risk management strategies for the organization. · Position Bank leadership to make informed decisions (e.g., operational and financial) through effective analysis, communication and reporting on key risks and opportunities that could significantly impact the organizations operations, strategic priorities, and mission. · Develop and implement a risk analytics initiative, maximizing use of data, analytics, and automation to enhance understanding and monitoring of risks, operationalize risk appetite and tolerance, and assesses alternatives for mitigating risks and strengthening resiliency capabilities. · Ensure the Banks resilience strategies and plans are adaptable and proportionate to the Banks risks, address a broad range of disruptions/scenarios, effectively meet compliance requirements, and incorporate System and industry standards. · Partner with the Director of Strategy & Innovation to provide actionable and forward-looking perspective on risk to the development and maintenance of the Banks strategic direction. · Develop and maintain plans, policies, and procedures necessary for the effective coordination of risk and resiliency management activities, including crisis management, business continuity, risk event reporting, and risk appetite. · Support the Crisis Management Team and others in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from significant risk events, disruptions and emergencies through comprehensive planning and analysis, facilitation of training/exercises, and coordination of improvement actions. · Lead and participate in risk-related initiatives and projects on Bank and System workgroups. · As part of the leadership team for Corporate Strategy & Risk, contribute to the development and advancement of the departments priorities and business objectives.
Other Accountabilities: Perform other duties as assigned. Supervision: This position reports to the Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Risk, and is responsible for the direct supervision of 4-6 staff. May also direct efforts in matrix managed environment where resources report to other management structures.
Knowledge and Experience: · Knowledge and experience normally acquired through, or equivalent to, the completion of a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of job-related experience. MBA or Masters degree preferred. · Strong leader with the ability to think both strategically and analytically. · Excellent verbal and written communications skills; and ability to deliver written reports and oral presentations for executive audience. · Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including executive management. · Knowledgeable of leading concepts and practices in risk management and resiliency (e.g., risk assessment and reporting, risk appetite, business continuity, and scenario analysis). · Demonstrated experience in leading, developing and motivating teams, establishing business objectives and driving results, and program and project management. · Ability to operate with a high degree of independence and autonomy.
