The Montclair State University full-time videographer will produce and manage content that positions the University for success in telling its brand story, recruiting students and fostering engagement with all its stakeholders. These products will enjoy broad viewership among a variety of audiences, across all Montclair State digital platforms and channels and at high-profile events.
Working closely with colleagues in University Communications & Marketing and with partners across campus, and in a self-motivated capacity, the video producer will oversee all facets of video production, including, but not limited to, concept and story development, gathering video and audio footage, editing, post-production, and archiving of branded, short-form and long-form videos used primarily on the web and on social media.
The video producer will collaborate with members of the Communications team on storyboards for video projects and on creating channel/medium-specific versions of videos. She or he will collaborate with other still photographers and videographers around the university on visual storytelling efforts. Some travel to subjectsâ™ locations and elsewhere on assignment will be required on an as-needed basis.

Plan, produce and manage the production of video for use by Montclair State capturing footage during for a range of marketing and student engagement efforts as well as related events.
Will report to the Creative Director to determine project scope and collaborate with partners, team members and project managers.
Advise partners and colleagues on strategies and tactics to reach specific audiences through video
Incorporate messaging faithfully in video productions
Photograph on-brand scenes that clearly communicate the Montclair State message and voice
Help develop visual concepts for partner buy-in and pitches on larger initiatives
Present work to partners and leadership for approval
Ensure quality and accuracy in video produced for audiences
20% Digital Asset Management (DAM)
The video producer will be responsible for organizing, managing, and archiving the foundationâ™s library of completed video and b-roll, as well as its presence on YouTube, Vimeo, and other online platforms. She or he will collaborate with other creative team members to share resources.
Bachelor's degree in film, videography, or related field
Minimum of three years of demonstrated professional experience or a portfolio of work that demonstrates proficiency with all stages of video production
Must supply reel or link to portfolio as well as references
Periodic weekend and evening hours to support programmatic activities
Some still photography may be required
Proficiency in video-editing software and online video platforms
Some experience in digital asset management
Ability to work within and independently manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Collegial, professional approach to work
Ability to collaborate creatively with others
Excellent customer-service and communication skills
Some travel between Montclair State University locations and elsewhere on assignment
