The Ohio State University Social Media team is hiring a social media planning coordinator to manage the planned publishing calendar across enterprise-level social media platforms. A member of the University Marketing team and reporting to the Senior Director of Social Media, this role leads the day-to-day planning and publishing for more than 1.7MM social followers. This person will collaborate with writers, designers, strategists and analysts to optimize content format, topics, tone and timing to target audiences on their respective platforms. Some responsibilities, such as event coverage, account monitoring, community engagement and analytics reporting, will be shared with the social media community coordinator. This person must be fluent in social media tactics and current with industry trends.
The social media planning coordinator is expected to demonstrate a passion for social media and a desire to stay on top of current industry trends. They will handle multiple projects and a high volume of content deliverables and need to flex based on the organization's priorities.

Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing or communications; Professional experience on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, YouTube and other platforms; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Microsoft Office skills.
Entry-level or internship experience with social media focus; Ability to learn new tools (e.g., work force management, publishing, reporting); Understanding of paid/owned/earned paradigm in social media; Understanding of user-generated content management, content marketing and reputation management; Understanding of social media metrics and performance; Exposure to marketing channels beyond social; experience with integrated marketing planning.
Target Salary: $22.16 - $25.49 Hourly
