Facilitate and/or Lead groups/teams in the analysis business processes, policies, and data in support of organizational initiatives.� Focus will be on areas identification of priorities for investment in improvement or transformation by the University.� Develop and enhance the strategy and methodology for the MyDay program on the capture and assessment of end to end process, policies, and data.� Provide strategic and operational leadership on business process mapping, requirements, issues, and opportunities.� Assesses impact of proposed changes to strategy, processes, and policies.� Facilitates group discussions and assists in the development of solutions to achieve objectives and goals.� Provides coaching and mentoring to business analysts and others in process analysis and facilitation.� Continuously evaluate and improve practices and processes to ensure that organization continues to improve and mature as desired and required.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy & Leadership:
Responsible for the development and maintenance of an overall process analysis and strategy for the MyDay program and Workday to support both current project efforts as well as create sustainable post go-live practices.
Lead the develop of the strategy and or approaches with other key resources from WashU IT, Business Offices, and the MyDay program with a focus on maturity of capabilities and resources.
Accountable to the development and management of a process assessment roadmap for the MyDay Student project that clearly defines each of the key steps and milestones that need to be accomplished to in order ensure that the goals are achieved.
Develop education and communicate approach with leadership, project teams, and campus partners.
Manage and adapt strategy to ensure that the needs and goals adapt as the organization matures and new challenges arise.
Serve as the key expert in process assessment practice for the organization.
Performs initial assessment for new projects, including developing a process inventory, creating high-level process maps, performing environmental scans and stakeholder analysis, and collecting and analyzing performance metric data.
Develop plans and schedules for initiatives or events in conjunction with project leadership.
Serve as a member of the MyDay Student Lead team.
Lead the development and management of process and assessment methodology and best practices for: capture and assessment of end to end process, policies, systems and data.
Develop, establish and delivery training on best practices for project teams, testing resources, leadership, and other project stakeholders to ensure alignment of expectations and responsibilities.� This will ensure that those who participate in and/or develop processes and assessment content will follow the methodology.
Define the roles and responsibilities for resources within projects and in the organization.
Manage and monitor the methodology to ensure that it is adjusted where appropriate, over time, to continue to meet organizational demands and maturity.
Develops tools, templates, and checklists to help teams achieve success more efficiently and effectively.
Collaborates with peer institutions and professional networks/organizations to further develop operational excellence frameworks, methodologies, tools, and templates.
Practice & Communication:
Lead project and organizational team members in the execution based on the established methodology and goals.
Perform effort planning to meet organizational demand by partnering with leadership, project managers, and others to evaluate needs.
Train and coach team members and other staff to ensure consistent outcomes for capture and assessment of end to end process, policies, systems and data across the projects and organization.
Mentor and train business analysts, subject matter experts and stakeholders on best practices.� Develop an onboarding and training plan to ensure that this is done consistently.
Manage and monitor issues report from teams that are escalated.
Regularly assess growth in demands.
Assesses solutions developed by teams to ensure objectives are met.
Encourages thought diversity and helps drive team to question current practices and promote new ideas.
Serves as the lead for process and organizational analysis for the MyDay projects.
Supports project leadership through the lifecycle of a project or assessment, serving as their primary point of contact for questions and issue resolution on process and assessment work.
Prepares and execute communications to stakeholders.
Develops detailed process maps using swim lane diagrams.
Researches peer institutions and professional organizations/networks for applicable best practices.
Collects and analyze industry and functional best practices applicable to initiative.
Collects and manages performance data captured in databases or obtained through interviews, surveys, and/or observations.
Performs detailed data analysis, providing a summary of key findings to team members for further discussion and to refine focus.
Documents requirements, process issues, and potential opportunities.
Maintains documentation throughout project, ensuring it reflects the latest information and is accessible by those who need it.
Facilitates small group discussions focused on understanding current state or resolving targeted problems.
Conducts feedback and lessons learned processes following projects and assessments; identify and track opportunities for future improvements.
Other Duties as Assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or other highly analytical field.
6 years of relevant experience analyzing business processes and/or data.
Experience participating in process engineering or assessment efforts.
Experience development methodology and/or coaching team members on methodology.
Experience in planning and evaluation of priorities and opportunities.
Experience working across organizations to evaluation issues, challenges, and identification of how best to address.
Experience facilitating large groups in elicitation or assessments.
Demonstrated ability to be strategic in the facilitation of key issues.
Familiarity with higher education, ideally with some experience in a health system or hospital.
Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies, or with the IIBA Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.
Team Skills: Supports teammates at all times and in any way necessary to maintain a productive, energetic, efficient and dynamic WashU IT team. Communicates effectively and frequently both verbally and in writing with other members of the team. The hiring range for this position is $90,688 - $120,141 annually.
