The University Libraries at Texas State University are seeking a Digital Design Specialist for our Technology Engagement team. Reporting to Systems Programmer Analyst II this position is responsible for producing a range of high-quality digital assets on a regular schedule. Primary responsibilities for this position include creating 2D and 3D assets for X-Reality technologies; engaging with the campus community through workshops and other programming efforts; assisting the campus community with graphic and 3D design software in our new DesignSpace and contributing content to our micro-credentialing program. The purpose of the micro-credentialing program is to enable its participants to create a range of digital assets that can be used in different technology spaces within the Alkek Library. Content for the program will include a series of self-paced modules and regular workshops given by staff, faculty, and industry professionals.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Design digital assets for the Immersion Studio and the micro-credentialing program. Effectively manage projects. Give workshops to supplement online content for the micro-credentialing program. Collaborate with the Digital Literacy Program Coordinator to identify x-reality skills, workflows and other activities that can be included in the micro-credentialing program. Engage in consultations with students, faculty and staff. Assist as needed with selection and training of student workers.

Expertise in 3D modeling software, graphic design software, and other software used for digital design; familiarity with integrated development environments and x-reality equipment; knowledge of animation and special effects; ability to create professional deliverables on a regular basis; interpersonal skills to establish rapport with a variety of clients, perform outreach, and create relationships with technology leaders; ability to complete projects accurately and on time by developing high-level and detailed project schedules, tracking progress against milestones, communicating project status on a regular basis, proactively identifying and managing risks, and ensuring that issues are resolved in a timely manner; ability to handle task interruptions in order to assist in critical activities with no negative impact.
