Under the direction of the Director of the Gildart Hasse School of Computer Sciences and Engineering (GHSCSE), the GHSCSE Coordinator for Student Outreach and Career Development develops and implements outreach, marketing, recruiting and retention initiatives to increase student outreach, enrollment and retention; helps place students for internships and employment; establishes articulation agreements with feeder schools and professional organizations; helps obtain equipment and cash donations and scholarships; and serves as a GHSCSE liaison to the Office of Enrollment Management, the Office of Career Development and the Office of University Advancement.
1.A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Management Information Systems or any related areas.
2.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3.Strong computer skills, particularly in database development and management.
4.Self-starter and pro-active.
5.Experience in market research and development, sales management, office administration and project management is highly desirable.
6.Familiarity with Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering or Engineering Technology programs is desirable.
7.Ability to travel locally, nationally and internationally.
8.Valid passport for international travel.
9.Valid driver's license and accessibility to transportation for travel to local outreach and recruiting activities.
10.Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the university's Motor Vehicle policy. A MVC check will be required at the time of hire and thereafter as deemed appropriate by the university. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the MVC check.
11.Ability to work on some nights and weekends in addition to regular daytime work schedule.
12.Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
