Fast Forward Medical Innovation (FFMI) is part of the Office of Research at the University of Michigan Medical School. As the "front door" to biomedical innovation, FFMI accelerates commercialization of technologies in diagnostics, therapeutics, devices, and healthcare IT. With the ultimate goal of impacting patient health, FFMI supports research at its inception, collaborates with commercial partners, and nurtures a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship by providing UM Medical School faculty, researchers, and students the tools and knowledge necessary to translate an idea into something of impact.
The Commercialization Education Program Coordinator will report to the FFMI Director of Commercialization Education and assist in the development and execution of FFMI commercialization education programs, including online educational materials and programming, the FFMI fastPACE course, and additional educational and promotional events.
The Commercialization Education Program Coordinator will be responsible for the following activities:
Develop and manage content creation to support new digital learning initiatives in support of online and in-person commercialization educational experiences.
Conceptualize, create, and prepare digital media of different styles for FFMI Commercialization Education, including but not limited to WordPress posts, recorded lectures, interactive modules, promotional how-to videos, tutorials and live webcasts.
Coordinate production of content with outside vendors, edit raw video, select music, designs graphics and/or digital video effects in order to create a quality, creative, finished product.
Collaborate with UM campus and institutional partners to identify opportunities to incorporate multimedia and video components in support of online and in-person education initiatives.
Adapting, scaling, and coordinating the FFMI fastPACE Course for campus-wide innovation teams, as well as partnering institutions across the country.
Function as the initial point of contact for FFMI Commercialization Education programs, including coordinating course recruitment, marketing and promoting events, monitoring registrations, creating and distributing evaluations, confirming and coordinating course registrants, guest speakers, and institutional guests.
Three+ years of work experience related to educational program development
Prior experience in life science technology commercialization or entrepreneurship a plus
Strong organization and project management skills
Effective presentation and written communication skills
Ability to set priorities for themselves and others
Ability to act effectively both independently and as a member of a team
Flexibility to meet changing priorities
Fluency with computer software (spreadsheet, word processing, PowerPoint)
