The Collaborative (School of Nursing & Health Studies)
The Collaborative to Advance Health Services (the Collaborative) at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Nursing and Health Studies seeks an experienced managerial-level candidate whose primary function will be to serve as Associate Director on one federally-funded project, the HHS Region 7 Mid-America Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC). This is a full-time exempt position available immediately and is 100% grant funded with an expectation that it will be renewed through September 29, 2022. This position reports to a Project Director and will manage the day-to-day functions of federal grant deliverables, including strategy development, and federal reporting. This position provides direct supervision to a multidisciplinary staff and key consultants.
OVERALL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead planning, project development and related activities for high-quality, appropriate training and technical assistance activities that build the capacity of the behavioral healthcare workforce and those who directly support them to implement evidence-based and emerging, promising practices.
Establish and maintain partnerships with outside stakeholders, including policymakers (federal, regional, state, and local), and the behavioral health care workforce (i.e., physicians, nurses, counselors, social workers, peer support professionals, and others).
Design technical assistance plans using evidence-based implementation strategies based on the most current implementation science literature to respond to requests in a way that will meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.
Work in concert with Collaborative Project Directors and Associate Directors to write strong, competitive federal grant applications; progress reports, and project budgets (as needed).
Ensure deliverables are completed within appropriate timelines and quality standards.
Prepare presentations for various meetings, conferences, teleconferences, conference calls, and exhibition opportunities.
Supervise team members, consultants, and contractors as needed to fulfill grant requirements and deliverables.
SKILLS, ABILITIES & PERSONAL QUALITIES
Must have a participatory management and planning style with experience in leading teams and facilitating collaborations among outside stakeholders.
Must have project management skills and be detail-oriented.
Ability to work effectively with persons across diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
Must have awareness of behavioral health services (i.e., substance use disorder and/or mental health).
Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Must have ability to communicate effectively and professionally both orally and in writing.
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and adept at learning new software and technologies (e.g., Zoom Conferencing, Adobe Acrobat, SPSS, Qualtrics).
Valid driver's license and good driving record required for extended automobile travel in leased vehicle
Local, regional travel and occasional national travel estimated at 10% - 25%
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Advanced degree in a human services, Public Administration, Social Work, Public Health area or related area
Minimum of five years management and supervisory experience in health-related field
Familiarity with federal policies related to behavioral health, especially substance use disorders

$47,476 - $65,468
