The University of North Carolina System Office, located in Chapel Hill, NC, invites applications for the position of ERP Operations Support Specialist. The ERP Operations Support Specialist will provide direct hands-on management, support and development of Banner and other primary enterprise applications as part of UNC System Office’s ERP Operations Team for a variety of projects associated with the Data Modernization and Integration (DMI) program. The position will also provide operational business process analysis/ review to identify and implement best business practice solutions and business rules to achieve operational efficiency and effectiveness, and to ensure that the University is compliant with State, Federal Government, and University of North Carolina regulatory requirements. This position will support the additional duties required to perform all the projects both during implementation and ongoing for all of the data modernization projects.
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in business application analysis, consulting, or development; or a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related degree and two years of experience in business applications analysis, consulting, or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Management strongly prefers a minimum of three (3) years of work experience configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and/or providing systems integration support for Banner ERP systems in a higher education environment. Also prefer experience with TOAD and SQL, and direct functional and technical experience with the Banner Finance or Student Accounts/AR module is strongly preferred.
• Functional Enterprise Application Expertise: This position requires an in-depth understanding of ERP systems and modules, report writing development, and functional expertise with Banner and other primary enterprise applications used in Higher Education. • Banner Data Model: Must be extremely familiar with the Banner data model, its naming conventions, and have experience extracting and transforming this information for a variety of purposes. Direct experience with the Finance or Student Accounts/AR data structures is required and prefer to have experience with other modules as well. • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to promote and facilitate collaboration, cooperation, and teamwork among diverse groups and individuals. • Persistence: Ability to deal with ambiguity, collect information and data through research, handle multiple demands concurrently, and manage projects with short deadlines. • Planning and Organizing: Ability to develop and lead the work unit in long-term or strategic planning. • Project Management: Manages complex projects that have high impact. Projects often involve significant changes to infrastructure or involve the implementation of emerging technologies. • Technical Support: Supports solutions that impact multiple customers and/or applications or are used at the enterprise level including statewide architecture.
