The Institutional Research Analyst reports to the Manager of Institutional Research and is responsible for completing senior-level analyses to inform decisions for all functional areas of RCBC regarding strategic planning, student success, and other institutional priorities. The incumbent will interface directly with the functional team members within administrative and academic units to better understand their data/reporting needs.
The Institutional Research Analyst compiles, analyzes, and converts data from reporting units across the college into actionable information, reports and other products for internal and external users, including academic accrediting bodies. The incumbent provides support in key areas associated with the successful day-to-day operations of the Office of Institutional Research including ongoing projects and mandatory state and federal reporting.
Additional responsibilities include data driven report writing and analysis including preparation of spreadsheet and graphic presentations and reports to internal and external audiences.
OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY

Accepts responsibility for the timely preparation of student outcomes assessment efforts of the faculty in planning, collecting data, and reporting dates as they relate to course outcomes, program outcomes, general education outcomes, and developmental program outcomes. Actively participates in setting annual division goals and objectives, completing OIR reporting forms, collecting data, analyzing data, and preparing a report using guidelines established by OIR.
Minimum of three years’ experience in position(s) requiring collection, analysis and interpretation of data.
Experience in higher education preferred or multiple years of business experience with time as an analyst.
Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Microsoft Excel skills level especially functions, calculations, Pivot Tables and enhanced data features.
Demonstrated knowledge with statistical software, data extraction reporting tools relating to Ellucian Colleague and understanding of conducting research using quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies.
Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications to support research activities.
Ability to function effectively as a member of a team.
Ability to plan, execute and work independently on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong project management experience.
Ability to develop Statements of Work.
Strong quantitative and communication skills with demonstrable proficiencies in oral, written, and presentation .
