Department: VM: WILDLIFE HEALTH CENTER - 072072 Department Description: The Executive Analyst for the ED is member of the OHI, which itself is part of the world renown School of Veterinary Medicine. The OHI is a $30 million enterprise, consisting of more than 60 faculty, staff and students working globally across dozens of centers, programs and projects. Each of these organizational units and the individuals who comprise them fulfill the mission of the OHI as they are all 'Working at the interface of animals, people, and the environment to solve complex problems impacting health and conservation.'

Job Summary: Under general direction, the Executive Analyst for the One Health Institute (OHI) is responsible for handling issues and requests involving the Executive Director (ED) participation, analyzing what information and materials will be required for the ED to respond to the issue, strategically requesting and compiling the information and advising the ED.
Responsible for the ED's integrated calendar system, screening meeting requests (gatekeeper), ensuring all meeting materials are electronically accessible. Works with a broad range of internal and external constituencies including senior university administrators, campus departments, advisory boards, community leaders, government officials, donors, and various campus committees in support of the ED's activities/responsibilities.
Responsible for analyzing the ED's national/international travel needs based on her responsibilities at off-site conferences/meetings and making the complex detailed travel arrangements required, researching and presenting options and proactively seeking best funding/timing alternatives. Provides occasional executive analyst support for other members of OHI on an as-needed basis. Coordinates special projects/events for the OHI.

Work Environment: Work occasional overtime and be on call to meet operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications: -Experience providing high-level executive analyst support in a higher education or similar environment.
-Political acumen to handle sensitive or difficult situation diplomatically; to represent high-level executives with discretion; and to work effectively and sensitively with constituents from diverse cultural backgrounds and perspectives.
-Experience using Interpersonal, customer service and professional business communication skills to diplomatically communicate with faculty, staff, students, practitioners, legislators, donors, alumni, industry representatives and the public at all levels.
-Organizational and time management skills to take appropriate initiative and prioritize work under multiple deadlines, heavy workload and overlapping activities of a complex and demanding unit.
-Skills to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
-Analytical and evaluative skills to research and assess data, identify problems and potential alternatives to address a variety of complex issues.
-Experience planning complex national and international trip itineraries, researching travel options, and making detailed travel arrangements.
-Computer skills to operate the following: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail, World Wide Web, e-mail and scheduling programs, databases, spreadsheets, graphics, mail merges, label preparations, slide preparation and desktop publishing.
-Event planning experience including facility, catering and AV arrangements, creation of invitations, contract negotiation and follow-up expense reconciliation.
Preferred Qualifications: -Knowledge of the veterinary profession, epidemiology, and animal health terminology.
-Experience with customer service in a health profession.
-Experience with UC MyTravel and Connexxus systems.
-Experience with Salesforce.
-Experience developing PowerPoint Presentations.
-Project management experience.
-Knowledge of relative roles of faculty, staff and administrators, and the protocols for communications and interactions between these parties in the university environment.
-Familiarity with system wide, campus wide and school wide administrative organizations, policies and procedures.
