The Role Responsibilities
The Associate Director, Governance governs non-financial risk for the Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing function ("the function"). The role holder collaborates with the rest of the CABM COO team to set and oversee infrastructure and process frameworks to manage risks and strengthen the control environment. This will entail working with first line management, regional governance leads, risk framework owners and other stakeholders to cascade and embed changes to operational processes.
Drive business conduct agenda
Engaging with CABM management, risk framework owners and Group Operational Risk to provide outcomes / insights from analytics to support CABM decision-making and 2nd line oversight and challenge.
In collaboration with CABM COO colleagues, managing assurance for the function.
Managing risk incidents within the CABM domain (e.g. losses/ non adherence to standards and other events that may be outside risk tolerance).
Anticipating and sizing horizon risks within the CABM domain and formulating action plans to address these risks.
Preparing materials for governance committees.
Identifying opportunities to simplify and streamline processes.
Engaging on an ad-hoc basis in various strategic projects/ special initiatives

Good understanding of risk management.

Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, with excellent time management.
Ability to challenge business stakeholders objectively and effectively.
Experience working within a financial services organisation.
Experience of working in or with the markets where the Bank operates across Africa, Asia and the Middle East, would be an advantage.
This role may involve travel to other markets
