Under the direction of the Assistant General Counsel for Data and Data Privacy, the Records and Information Management (RIM) Specialist will be responsible for the overarching global management and training of data records / information process and policies for retention and destruction. This will also include maintaining records in accordance with legal, regulatory and operational requirements to achieve continuous, efficient and uninterrupted business operations while reducing the retention of non-essential records that no longer serve a business purpose. The RIM Specialist will collaborate with the Digital & Technology team, Legal and Compliance Departments, and the business operations for automation to ensure the orderly and appropriate destruction of records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and manage standardized records and information management practices, process for retention and destruction for the company world-wide
Oversee the implementation and strategy to manage the company records and information through a global virtual indirect team
Lead the development of and administration of records retention and destruction training to company employees
Familiarity/experience with working in a global RIM operation including working knowledge of RIM industry tools including awareness of RIM and information governance industry field concepts, best practices, and procedures standards
Responsible for staying current with legal industry trends, standards, and regulatory obligations as they affect information retention and destruction requirements
Support the compliance with the company legal hold process
Education and Experience
Four-year degree with a preference in Business Administration, Project Management or related field
The successful candidate will have a proven track record with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in records/document management, information management processes and/or electronic information management systems
Knowledge of the principles and practices of physical and electronic records management
Preferred: Certified Records Manager (ICRM) a plus [Institute of Certified Records Managers]
Electronic Records Management (ERM) Master (AIIM) a plus [Association for Information and Image Management]
Ability to evaluate risks to the company and articulate issues, develop consensus, raise awareness, and provide and implement solutions.
Knowledge and understand of the GDPR & privacy regulations
Strong project management experience.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a cross-section of the Information Technology team, Compliance, Global Risk and business organizations
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Comfortable and effective in building partnerships with organizational leaders and influencing senior management
Ability to manage multiple projects with changing/shifting/dynamic priorities
