Job PurposeThe College of Education at Towson University is seeking an independent self-starter to serve as the Video and Audio Production Specialist for the College. The Specialist will serve the College’s growing needs in outreach, instructional applications, and engaging digital media. With knowledge in video production and web design, the Specialist will initiate and respond to the various needs of faculty, staff, and students within the College to create instructional, academic and training videos/modules for faculty and students; promotional marketing and communications videos and photos for external and internal, and on- and off-campus audiences; special event recordings; and other formats, as required.
Effectively collaborate with, and respond to, faculty and staff needs in identifying and developing new projects and effective media communication practices. Schedule video and photo shoots, respond to long-term and last-minute requests for production support within the College, and maintain calendar of events requiring production support. Ensure effective filing systems for raw and edited footage. Direct and shoot videos and photographs; operate video switching, digital video effects equipment, edit controllers, cameras, and audio mixers; set up and adjust lighting; adjust audio equipment including assorted lavalier and shotgun microphones; and troubleshoot any issues with video, audio, and lighting equipment. Edit footage and create graphics. Create desktop video for instructional, assessment, and outreach purposes. Organize, optimize, and publish video and photographic media on TU and third party websites. Ensure all projects demonstrate an understanding of the desired outcome are completed according to defined deadlines. Test, maintain, and update software and equipment as needed.
Bachelor's degree. Two years of experience in video production and/or multimedia. Experience in a professional video editing/production environment demonstrating competence in all areas of video production. Experience with sound mixing boards. Strong video editing skills and proficiency with Adobe Premiere. Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to respond to various requests. Candidates will be required to provide samples of work.
Experience designing course content using instructional design methods. Experience working in higher education settings. Degree in electronic media and film, video production, radio and television. Experience with animation/motion graphics. Experience with video production for social media use.
A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
