The role resides within Nationwide Financial Services area, including retirement plans, life and annuity.. The role brings project management discipline, organizational change management, project deployment and business leadership together. Retirement Plans is focused on serving both public and private sector retirement needs. e.g. 457, 401(a), 401(k), 403(b), etc. Our life and annuity areas focus on individual products and solutions to customers in planning for financial security in retirement.
The job may require a FINRA Series 6 license. You must acquire this license within the first 180 days of your employment.
Ideal candidates understand project leadership to drive project teams, collaborate across diverse areas and personalities, are able to deal with ambiguity, can be flexible with change and can communicate effectively and efficiently with stakeholders. They also will have a strong familiarity with the financial services industry business model, strategy and goals; such as retirement plans, life and annuity.
Responsibilities of this role include:
Accountable for ensuring business project deliverables including organizational change management tasks, are completed and decisions made effectively and efficiently for any that impact business solution, business readiness or implementation of a project
Identify stakeholders, understand their needs and ensure their input is incorporated throughout the course of the project
Build a business work plan for all business project tasks/milestones/deliverables, which will include high level IT critical path deliverables.
Identifies and secures business resources
Identifies and manages business issues and risks
Responsible for various types of project documentation to support the projects; obtains business sign off when required.
Schedules meetings for the project teams and help with preparing agendas/meeting minutes.
Maintains business project management log (e.g. actions /risks /issues /decisions /changes) for all of the projects that this individual is accountable for.
Tracks and reports weekly on project status for business activities/deliverables.
Responsible for business readiness activities (stakeholder impacts, training, marketing, communications, process readiness, etc.) and all business project communications
Effectively partners with the IT Project Team to deliver a complete solution (business/technology)
Supports the Business Delivery Executive, Business Decision Maker and/or Transformation Owner throughout the project
Responsible for interfacing with Momentum Program Management Team from a project management perspective
Performs other duties as assigned
Key additional considerations:
RP business knowledge is strongly preferred
Multiple instances of project management experience (leading and/or participation) preferred
Demonstrates excellent communication and command skills
Has familiarity with the Nationwide project process
Life & annuity experience or project management experience in financial services industry more broadly to include retirement plans.
