Heralded as a hub of undergraduate innovation, the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (VPUE) creates and sustains meaningful interactions between students and faculty both within and outside the classroom. VPUE is seeking an experienced graphic designer for a limited-term appointment that runs through August 31, 2020. This instrumental role, which reports to VPUE's director of communications within the Vice Provost's Office, provides creative solutions and support to internal clients and units throughout VPUE. As a member of the Vice Provost's Office communications team, the graphic designer will help bring visibility to a broad range of undergraduate programs and offerings and support VPUE's overall communications objectives.
Your responsibilities will include:
Under general creative direction, taking responsibility for VPUE-wide projects from client contact through delivery.
Coordinating with multiple clients to develop themes and designs to achieve desired results.
Producing complex design assignments in support of VPUE internal clients.
Creating the artwork and design for a variety of platforms, including layout for digital projects, starting from an initial concept and thinking in terms of broader solutions.
Working closely with VPUE's communications team and internal clients in order to complete design projects using pre-established specifications.
Maintaining quality control of content, and supporting design strategy and execution.
Using job-required software applications and mediums to develop and design materials according to defined requirements.
Inspecting proofs for accuracy and adherence to appropriate production standards.
Ensuring content specification and design guidelines are utilized organization-wide in support of VPUE branding efforts.
Coordinating workflow between design development and vendors and print shops to evaluate quality and process.
Maintaining knowledge of industry standards, trends and state-of-the-art technology to provide and enhance services.

To be successful in this position, you should have:
Bachelor's degree in related field and three years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, as well as:
Demonstrated understanding of contemporary graphic design principles.
Ability to work around an initial concept and think in terms of broad solutions.
Ability to present creative work that leads clients through the benefits and varied considerations of recommended creative solutions.
Demonstrated experience and understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud software applications and mediums, including browser usability and cross platform compatibility, as well as design and formatting for email marketing platforms such as MailChimp.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and client needs.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong organizational and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
Ability to perform detailed work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong knowledge in industry standards, trends, and technical knowledge.
Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team.
