Primary Responsibilities :
The Director of Training and Development is a leadership position reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer and is responsible for the creation and execution of a comprehensive and integrated employee learning strategy. This position will be accountable for designing, developing and managing a learning curriculum including instructional materials, training courses, and multimedia technologies that facilitate the development of the University's employees in support of the overall mission of the University and its strategic framework.
This director collaborates with Faculty and Staff leaders, HR partners and employees across campus to determine requirements, design and deliver training, identify and create action plans to address training and development gaps; evaluate current training plans to ensure they are meeting the needs of the university; source appropriate training solutions and develop, administer and track university-wide and job specific compliance training;.
In addition, the Director of Training and Development will leverage the knowledge and experience of subject matter experts to achieve desired goals and source appropriate training solutions to meet training and employee development needs.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Master's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred. A minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible functional experience related to professional development or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of the Organizational Effectiveness, Change Management, HR, and Talent Development. Knowledge of adult learning theory, training needs identification methods, program design and evaluation methods. Strong platform presentation and verbal communication skills, instructional design knowledge and blended learning techniques. Experience supervising others, advanced analytical and project management skills with attention to detail necessary. Must have the ability to work collegiality and effectively with a wide range of constituencies and diverse community. Must also be self-motivated and handle confidential material in a professional manner.
Preferred Qualifications At least 5 years of functional experience in Organizational Development, Certifications and experience in assessments, developmental instruments and programs such as DiSC, MBTI, 360 assessments, and solutions based facilitation, and DDI. PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP a plus. Experience in a higher education, non-profit, or public sector organization preferred. Application review will begin immediately.
