Reporting to the Executive Director of Digital Strategy, and working closely with counterparts and colleagues across the University, the Sr. Content Strategist supports the creation of websites, digital projects and applications, and design and development standards. This includes researching best practices, staying up-to-date on web design and development software, serving as an information architect, site-building, editing, and copy editing. The Sr. Content Strategist also helps craft and maintain web design and development policies and digital strategies, and disseminate these to the University community.
Site-building in Drupal 8
Create and edit content for websites
Collaborate on information architecture (sitemaps, nomenclature, and navigation)
Conduct trainings on analytics, using Drupal 8, and content strategy
Manage creation of new materials for site-building workshops
Collaborate with colleagues across the University on digital projects
Advise on CMS and web-related design, content, and communication strategies
Gather and employ website analytics
Help develop and maintain editorial and site-building guides
Support Executive Director of Digital Strategy on a variety of communications projects
Stay up-to-date on industry best practices
Test new features for and communicate findings to Drupal development team
Provides design and editorial standards guidance, workflows, content analysis, and optimization for a variety of digital products and services. Trains others as needed.
Manages technology and web projects, partnering with team members to define requirements, architecture, and strategy. The Senior Content Strategist is detail-oriented and has expertise tracking multiple projects and collaborating with stakeholders across the University and other team members
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of five years' related experience
Experience coding with HTML and CSS
Expertise creating content for websites
Expertise using Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and SalesForce
Excellent editing and copy editing skills
Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
Intermediate knowledge of PhotoShop
Familiarity with web accessibility requirements for content, particularly video
Ability to work as part of a team and independently
Experience with UX design and/or user testing
Successful completion of a copyediting test
