The Compliance Analyst assists the Chief Privacy Officer with the ongoing activities that relate to the development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's Privacy Compliance Program
Manages the day to day operations of the privacy auditing and monitoring program.
Establishes and administers a process to receive, document, track, investigate, and take action on all alerts and inquiries received related to the privacy auditing and monitoring program.
Ensures compliance with and consistent application of sanctions for failure to comply with the organization's privacy practices, in cooperation with Human Resources, the Information Security Office, and the Office of the General Counsel as appropriate.
Assists in the identification, analysis, and resolution of compliance issues.
Conducts periodic monitoring of HIPAA privacy requirements and report findings as needed.
Assists in the identification, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's privacy policies and procedures.
Manages the delivery of privacy training and orientation to all faculty, employees, volunteers, students, and other appropriate third parties.
Initiates, facilitates, and promotes activities to foster privacy awareness within the organization and related entities.
Works with all University faculty and staff to ensure full coordination and cooperation under the organization's policies and procedures.
Maintains current knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy laws and accreditation standards, and monitors advancements in information privacy technologies to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance.
Performs other job related duties as assigned/requested.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and related experience in required.
A minimum of four years of previous healthcare and/or regulatory experience preferred.
Knowledge and experience with HIPAA privacy laws, access and release of information, research, information security and other related areas desirable.
Knowledge in and the ability to apply the principles of project management and change management.
Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, critical thinking, administrative, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications.
Experience working in an academic medical center or a hospital environment
Knowledge of Epic or other electronic medical record systems
