SENIOR LEADERSHIP GIVING OFFICER,School of Engineering (SoE)-Chemical Engineering (ChemE) , to create and execute a comprehensive strategic development plan designed to raise financial support and awareness of Chemical Engineering. Will manage, build, and execute successful fund-raising strategies for a mature portfolio, creating individualized solicitation plans leading to major and principal gifts in support of MIT's fund-raising priorities, capital projects, and other departmental priorities; collaborate with the department head, key faculty, investigators, administrative officer, and events/communications staff to increase ChemE's visibility and establish a thriving community of supporters; collaborate with MIT's central prospect management teams, SoE resource development colleagues, and MIT's Office of Corporate Relations to identify and engage prospective donors and industry partners; engage in face-to-face donor/industry partner/prospect visits; arrange faculty meetings, site tours, and events; draft high-level proposals; create and disseminate collateral materials; strategically orchestrate meetings and other interactions between faculty/staff with prospects, donors, and industry partners; and perform other duties as requested.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree, preferably in an engineering/scientific field; at least five years' direct fund-raising experience, preferably in higher education; excellent interpersonal, organizational, project management, time-management, and written and oral communication skills; discretion with confidential information; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; experience presenting content to large groups and to relate effectively to diverse constituencies, including faculty, alumni, colleagues, and industrial partners; knowledge of professional options and career strategies, especially in engineering or related fields; and high-level proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and prospect management or other CRM systems. MBA/M.S., proven record of successful cultivation and solicitation of six-figure+ gifts, and an entrepreneurial approach to developing a prospect pool preferred. Job #17897-11
