Position Summary: UC Student Health Insurance Plan (UC SHIP) is the self-funded student health benefit plan offering comprehensive medical, pharmacy, dental and vision coverage to its member campuses. The Administrative Officer 3 ensures the smooth functioning of the department on a daily basis by assisting with the management, planning and administration of UC SHIP's operations. The position provides support to the Director of UC SHIP, 2 Program Managers and a Financial Analyst in short and long-term planning for the department as well as assistance with materials management, enrollment reconciliation and compliance. The Administrative Officer 3 must demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to issues from students, Executive Oversight Board members, campus constituents and vendors. Must possess strong project management, organizational and analysis skills with the ability to prioritize multiple demands to keeping projects on track and bringing projects to timely completion. Strong oral and written communication skills are needed as there is responsibility for responding to inquiries from and conducting substantive correspondence with UC student health center directors, vice chancellors and other campus and UCOP leadership bodies and staff, Executive Oversight Board members and Plan stakeholders, students and vendor partners regarding program matters and requests. Prefer thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, health plan operations principles and concepts, processes protocols and procedures for budget, account and fund management and personnel management. The position also supervises UC SHIP's Executive Oversight Board positions of parliamentarian, student caucus chair and committee.

Manages, plans and administers a range of administrative operations for UC SHIP operations and the department. Covers any and all administrative needs of the department which includes logistical planning and coordination of campus, vendor and standing board committee and workgroup meetings; prepares agendas and supporting documents needed; administration and distributes of Executive Oversight Board minutes; management and troubleshooting of equipment/provisioning and facilities needs; maintenance of contracts, files, and records; and coordination of reimbursements.
Job Requirements Bachelor's degree and minimum of 3 years of job related experience and/or equivalent experience/training.
Strong interpersonal communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to interact collaboratively and productively with diverse staff within UCOP, at the campuses, and with other university stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, and advising skills.
Knowledge of a variety of administrative operations activities such as events planning, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts regulations and guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to work proactively and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively as part of a team.
