Business/Systems Analyst 2 - one-year temporary position
Salary range: $65,000-$70,000

This position is a second-level professional Business/System Analyst responsible for business or systems process analysis, design, testing, and implementation. An incumbent at this level is a learned professional responsible for problems of moderate difficulty that can be resolved through analyzing possible solutions utilizing standard procedures. This position work under limited supervision, but some technical guidance is required for unusual and complex problems/projects
This position will work primarily with the Student Records and Student Data and Analytics teams to analyze, refine, and document various student-focused applications and services.
Requirements and Processes (60%)
Work with business partners to map current and future processes and aligns technology solutions with short- and long-term strategies.
Meet with subject matter experts to document business requirements and create detailed function/technical system specifications.
Create and execute detailed test plans and documents results.
Work with clients and technical group to resolve system issues.
Evaluate and follow through on issues and problems until resolved or escalated.
Evaluate issue patterns to plan and execute process improvements and system upgrades.
Assist in the rapid and thorough resolution of production issues. Evaluate, document, and report issues to management.
Assist in the implementation of “workarounds” when system issues affect business needs.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of business processes in multiple business areas.
Facilitate design sessions with customers.
Processes and Documentation (30%)
Analyze, refine, and document processes to support ASR-IT’s Student Records and Student Data and Analytics teams.
Assist users in understanding systems.
Provide updates and present to stakeholders.
Work with business units to assess current capabilities and identify high-level requirements.
Work with trainers as appropropriate to inform end-user training and updates for new and changed applications.
Professional Development and Ad Hoc Support Activities (10%)
Respond to issues, research, and resolve as appropriate.
Create and update documentation.
Serve on committees and task forces.
Attend Academic Support Resources (ASR)-related meetings and collaborate with other ASR staff where applicable.
Develop subject matter expertise in student-related data.

BA/BS degree in a related field and two years of work experience in the areas of business or systems process analysis, OR a BA/BS degree in a non-related field and four years of work experience in the areas of business or systems process analysis.
Strong analytical, organizational, time management, and problem solving skills.
Demonstrate thorough understanding of how to interpret customer needs and translate them into requirements.
Experience writing documentation and procedures addressing user needs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Ability to interact professionally with diverse groups, across disciplines, and with executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Knowledge of financial aid, student finance, student records, CRM, and non credit registration business processes and application systems.
Knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions
Experience at a university or college.
Working knowledge of project management techniques.
Experience with SQL and working knowledge of relational databases.
Effective customer service and public contact skills.
Ability to communicate technology concepts effectively with technically proficient and non-technically proficient individuals.
Ability to sufficiently understand and analyze data to recognize data anomalies and problems and suggest corrective actions.
