This position is in the Center for Digital Education at the Olin Business School at the Danforth Campus.
The Center for Digital Education is a new department within Olin Business School and is responsible for the development of a range of digital learning resources for on and off-campus programs; including online course pages within the School’s digital education platform, online course packs, and multimedia resources. The Digital Content Manager will ensure the highest quality production standards for these digital resources, meeting all copyright and accessibility legislative requirements, and making sure that they are delivered to students on time.
The post holder will play a lead role in recruiting further staff to the Digital Publishing team in the first 12-18 months (in liaison with the Center’s Director and Associate Director).
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Publishing Standards - the development, management and maintenance of Center publishing standards and house styles; covering all types of digital resource, including text and graphics (for example, diagrams and models), and multimedia resources.
Quality Control - of all digital materials to ensure that, on publication, these resources have achieved the high production standards expected of a leading business school.
Copy Editing - to ensure, either personally or through team members, that all materials are thoroughly copy edited prior to publication to maintain the highest standards of English and readability.
Project Management - of an extensive range of publishing projects covering large quantities of digital content to be published on schedule. To maintain meticulous records of each stage of the publishing process for all digital resources.
Agency Management - to develop and maintain relationships with third-parties, including publishers, course pack service providers, and on-campus services including the Bookshop.
Accessibility - to ensure that ALL materials published meet, and exceed if appropriate, all accessibility standards as required by legislation.
Contracting - where applicable, prepare and ensure legal authority of authorship contracts, and when necessary, make changes in conjunction with University legal counsel.
Copyright - ensure that all relevant copyright clearance is gained for all materials to be published and to be a source of expertise in this area for the School.
Specialist Advice - provide specialist publishing advice and guidance to the Director and Associate Director in order to continually improve the quality of the digital materials produced.
Line Management - Maintain a highly collaborative and service-oriented digital publishing team. Specifically, this position will oversee a number of Digital Publishing Assistants, including the management of workloads, ensuring quality control, and evaluating performance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
A Bachelor’s Degree in English, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related digital publishing experience (3-5 years preferred).
Line management experience of at least 3-5 years
Significant experience of publishing digital content
Demonstrable ability to work on multiple ongoing projects

The hiring range for this position is $52,943 - $68,816 annually.
