Innovation will be critical to achieving growth and expanding SVBâ€™s market leadership, and SVB has set ambitious goals for innovation-led growth. Within innovation we are building an Incubation team, and looking for a versatile, passionate and qualified Senior Program Manager to help bring this to life.
This role will have a play a key role in both defining and operating our Incubation capacity. The right person will be strong at both organizing the efforts of the team, and driving outreach to the larger organization. This person will grow relationships with key leaders around the bank, facilitating their participation in innovation efforts.
Provide overall program management for innovation, which includes, but is not limited to
Day to day management of incubation process
Develop, manage and publish incubation tracking and reporting
Program manage the growth of our incubation capacity, particularly in distinguishing internal efforts from external partner efforts
Drive relationship building, partnership and problem solving with key internal stakeholders
Help drive and facilitate handoff of projects to other groups within SVB, including effectively managing expectations, setting goals and holding them accountable
Manage budget, financial goals and KPIs for the incubation team
Lead or support creation of agenda and presentations for incubation reporting and outreach
May so lead or support special projects (depending on candidateâ€™s background) related to business case development, internal ideation and/or change management
Lead vendor management (e.g., selection onboarding, contracts, logistics) for Incubation
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a blend of program management, planning and process design and management experience, with a preference for those who have worked in FinTech or financial services, as well as with Design Thinking. We are looking for individuals who possess a blend of work experience in both large and small enterprisesâ€"someone who understands the complexity and necessary rigor of working in a scaled, multi-billion organization, but can also productively challenge and reinvent such working norms and foster a more agile and entrepreneurial organization and culture.
Ideal candidates will have the following experiences or qualifications:
3+ years of experience in large scale programs comprised of multiple projects, portfolios and/or programs
3+ years of experience in small, agile environments.
Strong communication and influencing skills with all levels of stakeholders, including executives
Demonstrated ability to build credibility, establish rapport and maintain relationships and communication with stakeholders at multiple levels.
Demonstrated ability to understand big picture and/or piece things together and considers both long/short term impact of work to the whole, and can switch from detail to big picture seamlessly.
Proactivity in reaching out to stakeholders to manage expectations and â€seedâ€ solutions
Comfort with smoothly re-orienting plans when research findings or other new data indicate a change in direction is required
Management of projects to scope/schedule/budget and challenge respective stakeholders as needed.
Demonstrated ability to embrace and thrive in ambiguity and in an environment with shifting priorities.
Drives creative, innovative ways to approach problems, processes and projects
Sets priorities under conditions of limited resources and competing demands.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (multiple methods).
Experience managing vendors, SOWâ€™s, contracts, and procurement processes.
Highly desired, but not required:
Pre-existing knowledge of SVB organization and people, strengths and weaknesses
Product owner-style experience with articulating and prioritizing requirements
Entrepreneurial experience or innovation experience within a large organization
Experience with â€Design Thinkingâ€ or other innovation techniques, especially using them together with designers, researchers and customers
Scrum master experience
