Detailed Job Description
RIT's Marketing and Communications Division (M&C) is the provider of integrated marketing and communications for the university. We provide vision, guidance, and support to enhance RIT's national and global reputation and achieve overall university and unit-specific goals. The Operations team supports the Vice President/Chief Marketing Officer, along with the entire M&C Division, by providing support related to Project Management, Human Resources - both Staff and Student Employment, Budget and Financial Management, Facilities and Space Management, and Information Technology Management.
Along with the Operations team, the University Production Services team also reports through the AVP. University Production Services provide the university with technical and production support for major events (examples include Commencement/Convocation, Admissions Open Houses, Brick City Homecoming events), as well as broadcast production of live sports events.
The AVP(Assistant Vice-President) is responsible for continuously evolving the strategic vision, culture, processes, staff development, leadership development, and employee engagement of the University Production Services and M&C Finance/Operations teams while also influencing and promoting these values throughout the division. He/She will serve as a member of the VP/CMO's executive management team, providing input on mission, goals, strategy, and development of the division. The AVP will represent the division within the RIT community on university-wide committees such as Facilities Managers Team Meetings, the University Assessment Council, and others as appointed by the VP/CMO.
The AVP will work closely with the Assistant Director of Project Management and unit leaders to ensure smooth project management for all creative and event projects within the division's own creative agency. He/She will also work with staff to provide a level of administrative support to all areas within the division with regard to project management, budget, human resources, student employment, facilities, and IT support.
The AVP will provide strategic counsel to the Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer on the management of divisional resources - human, fiscal, capital, and facilities.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in managing administrative operations, resource management, procedure implementation, project management, and customer relations, preferably in a higher ed setting required.
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Project Management, or related field required. Masters degree (MBA) strongly preferred.
