With key support from executive, academic and financial leadership, the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management has played a key role in developing a successful strategy for undergraduate recruiting and retention. Student enrollment has reached record levels each year for nearly a decade. Supported by a skilled team and guided by the university’s Next Lives Here strategic direction that inspires new achievement, the University of Cincinnati’s next Vice Provost for Enrollment Management has an opportunity to build upon a solid foundation and reach new levels of success.
ROLE Reporting to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, the Vice Provost leads and/or participates in multiple committees and workgroups that shape policy, guide practice, and coordinate strategy among the various stakeholders involved in setting and achieving enrollment goals. The Vice Provost works collaboratively with all University of Cincinnati campuses and constituencies to promote student access, inclusion, success and excellence and to champion the recruitment, enrollment, transition, retention and graduation of a student body rich in talent and diversity. Areas that report to the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management include:
Student Financial Aid
Advising and Academic Services
University One Stop Center
Enrollment Services Analysis and Reporting
Lead integrated strategic enrollment planning, recruitment management and operational execution;
Guide a high-performance culture that places students first and recognizes the commitment to university and external communities;
With key partners, execute the development of strategic enrollment goals for academic profile, net revenue, retention and student success, diversity, and approaches to student financial assistance, and create and execute an enrollment plan to achieve those goals;
Collaborate with key partners to develop a student success accountable culture;
Provide oversight and leadership for the strategic management of the financial assistance programs;
Successfully identify and enroll a diverse and academically talented class of students in established and new markets;
Provide leadership, direction, research and planning in formulating recruitment strategies for target markets;
Commit to fostering a global perspective;
Make data-informed decisions for allocating staff and financial resources to achieve enrollment goals;
Collaborate with the Communications office to develop successful recruitment strategies and messaging;
Lead and actively manage staff in the execution of goals by creating a supportive and collaborative environment for success and professional development.
Five years senior management experience in successful enrollment programs, including but not limited to advising, marketing, data analytics, recruitment, yield and retention strategies.
Demonstrated knowledge and application of best practices in enrollment management and advising, including but not limited to marketing, data analytics, recruitment, yield and retention strategies.
Proven effective management of department resources (budget, personnel, space, etc.).
Prior track record of building strong relationships with internal and external constituencies.
Previous successful supervision of a large and diverse team in a comprehensive R1 institution.
Evidence of creativity and innovation in strategic planning and problem solving with an understanding of integrated marketing and its impact on enrollment.
A high level of collaboration and teamwork with effective communication and presentation skills.
Ability to collaborate with a wide cross-section of senior administrators, faculty, staff, alumni, and students.
