Dean College is looking for a dynamic, experienced, student-centered educator to join the faculty for its growing psychology program for Fall 2019 or Spring 2020. The Psychology program is looking for a faculty colleague to teach and help shape the curriculum in biopsychology and cognitive psychology.
The candidate who joins us will be asked to teach an array of courses including biopsychology, cognitive psychology, statistics, research methods, and general psychology. The successful candidate will include experiential learning and active engagement in their classroom as well as help to equip students seeking careers in psychology and related fields with key skills.

10-month, full-time, annually renewable position;
Teach 5 courses per semester; however, there is no faculty advising load. Students are served by a professional advising staff;
Hold office hours as required and meet with students by appointment;
Coach and mentor students regarding academic and career goals including graduate school preparation;
Direct student research projects;
Co-advise a Psychology club;
Participate in committees as assigned, attend school and program meetings;
Participate in recruitment activities and student orientations;
Other duties as assigned.
A Master's degree is required; A PhD in Psychology is desired with a preferred emphasis in cognitive psychology or biopsychology; candidates with an ABD will be considered;
Undergraduate teaching experience is required;
Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and innovative classroom pedagogy is a plus;
Candidates must have a demonstrated passion for teaching, for providing transformational learning experiences, and for teaching to a diverse population of undergraduates at varying stages of academic readiness;
Experience with course management systems (i.e., Moodle), digital technology, and classroom media such as smart boards is desired.
